Topic: Misc Items in MRP
|
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 9 2023 at 06:09:02 AM | Should "MISC" components be showing up in the MRP report (Shortage foprecast report)?
I think they should not be there, i have quite a few and it is cluttering the report.
Thanks | |

By: Support | Posted on: Dec 12 2023 at 09:52:26 AM | I'd need to check this. I agree that MISC item shouldn't appear in the shortage reports. when a BOM is issued/kitted the MISC items aren't reduced in the inventory so there can't really be a shrtage of them.
So. As I said. i need to check this and come back to you as soon as I can.

When you start the software there's an "About" button at the bottom of the window. Click that and a little info window pops open showing the version number. The version is something like 5.0.123 What version do you have?

Thanks | |

By: Guest | Posted on: Jan 9 2024 at 01:35:09 AM | I have various MISC items. They appear in customer orders, when i run the shortage forecast, they are there, showing the quantity as in the customer order.
Thanks. | |
By: Guest | Posted on: Jan 9 2024 at 07:06:39 AM | They appear in Customer Orders? So you sell MISC items?
The intention of MISC items is that the on-hand/inventory quantities should not change. For example "Labor". It exists in the inventory so that it can appear on BOMS and have a value that affects the build cost of an assembly. But when you processes a WorkOrder BOM to take materials from your inventory the OnHand quantity of the MISc item doesn't get reduced.
Don't sell MISC items. If you sell it then it shouldn't be MISC.
Go to all your MISc items and set the Onhand quantity to zero. Set the MinQty and MaxQty to zero also.
Don't sell it. Only consume it in BOMs and it won't appear in shortage reports.

By: Guest | Posted on: Jan 11 2024 at 07:57:58 AM | You can of course sell MISC items. But their quantities will not be reduced in your inventory when you ship them to your customer.
Go to your 'CARRIAGE' item and set its OnHand quantity to zero. Set its min/max to zero also.
Now when you sell and ship CARRIAGE it will not be taken out of your inventory. The OnHand quantity remains ate zero.
It also does not appear in shortage reports or below minimum reports.
By: Guest2 | Posted on: Jan 11 2024 at 08:01:09 AM | But you can also go to the menu bar at the left side of the program window. Go to the very bottom into the Setup area. In there is a 'Customer' area. In there you can set a default 'Carriage' name and price.
Now when you create a customer order that carriage item will appear at the very bottom of the customer order. You can edit the carriage price if necessary.

The first option above did not work for me - set stock/min/max to zero, still shows on the shortage report, second option, OK, but we have x number of deliveres per order. It's not just one.
